Revival is a time of spiritual
refreshing from the Lord. It is for God’s people. Pray that God
will send revival again to the people of God to this country and
to other countries where ever His name is named in truth. Again,
I refer you to Jeremiah where he prayed, “Turn thou us unto
thee, O Lord, and we shall be turned; renew our days as of old.”
The name of our Lord Jesus
Christ is resisted, blasphemed, and laughed at. Revival is an
exaltation of the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The spirit of
God makes real to the people of God our Lord Jesus Christ. We
repent and turn from our evil ways. God’s people get filled with
the Holy Spirit and sinners are converted to Him. Search me O
God, try me, show me the evil way that is in me. Cleanse me from
it and led me in the way everlasting.

Revival, what it is not:
-
It is not plans of a
committee.
-
It is not a production of man.
-
It is not an organized
program.
-
It is not centered in a
preacher, an evangelist or in any person.
-
Human personality has nothing
to do with it.
What is revival:
-
It is a supernatural moving of
the Spirit of God upon the hearts of people that convicts of sin
against God.
-
It is that which in a powerful
way, draws people to the message of Jesus Christ, the Gospel how
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures that
He was buried and that He was raised again from the dead the
third day according to the scriptures.
People get born again of the
Spirit of God, however, before these things happen, before this
blessing comes, our Lord sets us to pray. We cry out to God, we
tarry in His presence. In all of this our motive is that God be
glorified, that Christ be exalted, and that His people turn from
sin. When this happens, sinners are saved. Will you pray for this?
Will you seek God for this? II Chronicles 7:14 says, “If my people,
which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Revival, oh how we need it.
Revival is a special visitation of God among his people. Always
before revival, God causes people to prayer. It is humble praying.
It is seeking his face, which means we seek his favor. Revival
involves a confession of sins, with repentance, turning to God. Will
you pray together with us as Habakkuk prayed, “will thou not revive
us again?” In revival many people are saved. Most of all God is
glorified. Pray, pray, pray for revival.

What constitutes a New Testament
local church? It is founded upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Its purpose
is to glorify him in obedience and to all that he said. As Christ
becomes real to the people of God in a local church, the by product
of that reality will be praise to his holy name. The great command
to the local church is founded in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the
Acts of the Apostles. Simply we are to take the gospel to the whole
world. We are to baptize those who come to Christ and disciple them.
This must be done in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, “But
ye shall receive power,
after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and
ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,
and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8. The promise of this power is given in Acts 2:39. The
promise is to every person who knows Jesus Christ as their Saviour.
Read the book of Acts and see how
that with this Holy Spirit power, people were added to the church,
they multiplied and multiplied greatly. Again I challenge you to
read the book of Acts, and you will find that their message was the
gospel of Jesus Christ. Their method simply was, they proclaimed the
gospel wherever they went and again emphasis was added with the power, the renewable
power of the spirit of God. This is God’s way of getting the message
of Jesus Christ to the world. God help us to get back to this
simplicity of doing it God’s way.

We must never depart form the
basics, the absolute essential of our salvation, which is just not
facts about God but the person of God himself. John 17:3, "And this
is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and
Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." Knowing him as our Saviour is
knowing him as the one who died for our sins, who was buried and
raised again the third day according to Scriptures. This is the
gospel, and this gospel is the power of God unto Salvation to
everyone who believes it, to the Jew first and also the Greek.
Resting on Christ in absolute faith in him as our Saviour, with a
heart of repentance of turning from sin to him will bring holy
spirit assurance into our hearts that we are saved.
Romans 1:16
God bless you this week. Come to
him if you do not know him. And Christian, walk with him.
